Accordingly, it requires an individual who can bring excellent interpersonal skills, strong written and oral presentation skills. The work requires a good understanding of mechanical systems including materials handling systems, crushers, conveyors, screens, hoists and related mechanical equipment.
The work will provide you an opportunity to conceive of and effect improvements in their operations on a broad front. In this role, you’ll be working closely with engineering consultants, suppliers and internal staff to provide guidance to ensure that designs meet the standards set by the company.
The work will involve the creation of concept drawings, the preparation of cost estimates, schedules and tender documents, managing the engineering tender evaluation and approvals of detailed design drawings. As projects get underway, you’ll be overseeing all aspects of the project, including tracking material and equipment, preparing construction tenders, doing complete pre-development reviews and handling the overall construction management.
Secondary responsibilities will be to provide problem solving, inspections and technical assistance to the Production and Maintenance Groups to ensure all stationary equipment, structures and facilities are kept in safe reliable working condition.
What we are after is a highly motivated and communicative individual with a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mining-Mechanical Engineering. The work will require a good working knowledge of conveyor systems, crushers, screens, hydraulics and pneumatics, lifting equipment and associated equipment coupled with a basic knowledge of structural and electrical systems. Knowledge of health and safety legislation, construction regulations and applicable CSA standards will also be of great value.
This opportunity is immediate and is located in Southern Ontario in an area best described as an ideal place to live. All relocation costs will be provided. The Immigration and Work Permit Process
Email your CV to us in Word format. Include a photo of yourself, as well as one of you with your family (if applicable) in jpeg format. They don’t have to be official photos, just clear enough for us to attach them to your CV, for us to give to our clients. This is important. Information required on the CV must also include date of birth, full address and telephone contact details and email address, marital status, nationalities (passport holders of which countries), number and ages of children.
Interviews will be held in Joburg and Durban between 3 and 17 June. Once interviews are held, we will arrange a date and time for the client to phone you to have a telephonic interview. After you receive a job offer from Canada, the process of obtaining your work permit will be commenced by us and our immigration attorney. Once secured, you will be able to commence work in Canada. This process normally takes about 4 to 5 months. During this stage our attorney will require you to provide certain documents, and later you will be advised by Canadian High Commission in Pretoria to go for medicals and thereafter they will ask for your passports.
Expenses you will be required to pay for will be medical examinations, courier fees, certification of documents in South Africa, and work permit for your wife should you require this. These costs are minimal. All other costs will be paid by our client, which includes all work permit visa fees, attorney fees and relocation expenses to Canada. Once you arrive in Canada, your children will be allowed to attend any Canadian schools at no cost. On arrival in Canada you will be met by the company, transported to pre-arranged rental accommodation, where you will be accommodated for a period of time, thus allowing you to find suitable accommodation for your family.
Your work permit is normally issued for a period of 2 to 3 years, however this does not mean you have to return to SA at the end of this time. As soon as you have completed your 3 months’ probationary period here in Canada, you will be able to submit your application for permanent residence. You may either use our immigration attorney for this or you can choose to do the process yourself. This process takes approximately 12 months. Once permanent resident status is acquired, you can become a Canadian citizen after 3 years.
We require you to check your email account very regularly from the time you submit your CV, as this will be the only way we will be communicating with you regarding date/time for interviews in South Africa, as well requests for any additional information that we may require you to bring along to the interview, and then later on to arrange the telephonic interview by our client here in Canada, which will only occur after your personal interview in SA.
