MINE SUPERINTENDENT – SOUTHWESTERN ONTARIO

Base salary to R1,45 million p.a. plus annual bonus up to 20%

Reporting to the Mine Manager, your main role will be to provide leadership to the mining department.  In this capacity, you would be responsible for managing and budgeting for mining operations, short and long term planning of underground mining as regards production demand, ground control, underground ventilation, crusher and conveyor belt placement and mining equipment needs.  Other areas will include the promotion of safety and productivity, general mine lay-out as well as planning for mining labour requirements. 

In this role, you will also be responsible for the coordination of production needs and planned maintenance activities. Other areas of involvement will include the development of specifications for new mining equipment and providing assistance in sourcing required equipment.  Staff will include general foremen, several production supervisors and upwards of 250 hourly employees.

The individual we are seeking is by nature a team builder with the leadership ability to foster achievement, initiative and a spirit of motivation within your group.  You should be an accomplished Mining professional with a degree in Engineering, either Mining or Mechanical or the equivalent with upwards of 10 or more years of mining experience. It will appeal to an energetic team player who enjoys a fast-paced work environment.
